Commitment Ceremony / Affirmation of Love Ceremony

 

   Sometimes a couple has either a legal reason or a personal preference not to get married under state law.  However, they do wish to affirm their commitment or love for each other in a similar ceremony that has profound meaning. A Commitment Ceremony is a perfect choice for them.  Any two individuals may participate in this ceremony and it is not legally binding.  Sometimes in cases where there is a legal wedding ceremony already planned, but there may be a sick or elderly member of the family that may not survive until that time, this ceremony can be performed in witness of the individual, serving as the "wedding before the wedding".  

    An Affirmation of Love Ceremony is perfect for couples that have decided that they are not yet ready to be married, whether for financial reasons or the timing is just not right (one partner suddenly being deployed into military service, one partner getting temporarily reassigned to a long distance work location, both partners waiting to graduate school, etc.)  Whatever the reason, it is always the right time to profess your love to one another!   

   Both ceremonies can be performed on relatively short notice and are totally customizable to any denomination (or no denomination at all if you prefer).  The ceremony can be as creative and fun as you want, at any location that is meaningful to you (ex: place where first date or proposal happened, outdoors, indoors, under your favorite tree, a nice restaurant, bowling alley, etc.), it doesn't matter.  It is your special day, enjoy it !
